I am a seasoned grant professional with over 12 years of experience in public administration, community development, and grant management. My career has focused on securing, managing, and ensuring compliance for funding that supports vital community projects. In my most recent role with the Colorado Broadband Office, was responsible for maintaining compliance across over 20 federal grants. I also administered the Broadband Ready Community Program and Checklist, drafted requests for proposals, and led the development of the CBO Technical Assistance Program to connect communities with broadband consultants.  Prior to that, as the Community Program Manager/Grant Coordinator for the City of Montrose, I was successful in writing grant applications that secured $6 million to fund City and community projects. I managed the end-to-end process for state and federally-funded grants, covering procurement, contracting, compliance, and financial tracking, including budgets, quarterly reports, and payments. I led the Development and Revitalization Team (DART) and fostered critical partnerships with nonprofits, local governments, and state/federal agencies to promote growth.

 

Earlier in my career, as a Community Development Coordinator with the North Central Illinois Council of Governments, I secured another $6 million in funding for rural communities, specifically for public infrastructure. My responsibilities included drafting comprehensive plans, economic development strategies, and natural hazard mitigation plans. I also completed the National Environmental Policy Act review process for state-funded projects and led public hearings for planning and infrastructure initiatives.  My educational background includes a Master of Public Administration from the University of Illinois and a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication from Olivet Nazarene University.
